10 Tips For Business Cash Flow and why small bsinesses fail...

Cash flow is very important and unfortunately, one of the most overlooked methods for managing a small business, yet ignoring your cash flow or doing it incorrectly can be detrimental to the success of your business.

1. Do your best to keep from running out of cash, if you do, this could be considered a failure for your business. Increase sales, prices, or offer better service. It all helps increase your bottom line.

2. Understand the first rule: Cash Is King.

3. Be aware of your bank balance. Knowing your current bank balance at all times, every day is important.

4. Keep your books up to date. Use whatever you need to keep your books up to date. Track all sales, expenses, and little pieces of ther puzzle like petty cash, payroll, overhead. All of these details can drain your cash flow if you are not careful or accurate.

5. Don't have the time to do it manually, find the best way to do your accounting: manual, Quickbooks, Peachtree, a bookkeeper, accountant: Whatever it takes.

6. Don't Manage From the Bank Balance. The bank balance and the cash balance are two different forms of cash. Rarely will the two ever be the same. Don't make the mistake of confusing them.

It's futile and frustrating to attempt to manage your cash flow using the bank balance. It's a prescription for failure. You reconcile your bank balance. You don't manage from it.

7. Predict your future cash balance: a month from now, 6 months, a year, etc. Create a consistent prediction and review it monthly. Your predictions will help you make the best of your future business and whether or not, it will fail.

8. Avoid issues with your cash flow. If your sales are low, find a quicker way, than usual, to raise your sales or lower expenses and overhead.

9. Use graphical data like pie charts, line charts, and bar graphs. They make looking at data easier and will let you see your trouble areas and where you need to concentrate your efforts.

10. Hire more people to help manage your business. If you are running thin and cannot wear all of your hats, find other people to wear them, then increase your sales
